Thin tumbling monkeys
jumping, trespassing my
own fence.
Why did you release them once more?
I told you then
not to let them go wild.
Their dextrous hands amaze me,
but take me somewhere
I’d rather not go.
There, you can call
though I’m not sure
if you’ll get any answers.
Ticklish kids,
winking eyes
that don’t know where to look.
And when you notice
they took
your last breath
it will be
too late.
